National Customer Service Week 5 - 9th October 2009
What’s it all about?
As the first telecoms company to receive a Customer First Award, Chess is proud of the customer service it delivers and wants to celebrate the continuous hard work we do. NCSW is all about celebrating the customer and the service we provide. It is within our culture to exceed customer expectations at every opportunity. Taking part in National Customer Service Week (NCSW) was therefore the perfect chance to share ideas and encourage all Chess people to go the extra mile for customers wherever possible.

What's in it for customers? How about 1000 FREE minutes?!
This year, we wanted to do something a little bit different to show customers how valued they are. Chess has decided to open its doors to customers, offering free coffee and a ‘Telecoms health check’ to anyone who visits. The check will pinpoint any areas where Chess could save the customer even more money on their business telecoms.
The Alderley Edge office will be open on Thursday 8th October from 4pm until 7pm for all customers. Even if you aren't a Chess customer now, you will be more than welcome to attend! It’s never too late to save yourself some money! The invitation is aimed at local and national customers and as a ‘thank you’ for coming, Chess will offer all attendees 1000 free minutes off their bills.
“We want customers to use this opportunity to come along and discuss how we can improve the current service they are receiving from Chess.” Julie Wright, Operations Director said. “Customers can turn up, grab a coffee and speak to our customer services team. They will discuss ways we can save them even more money on their business telecoms.”

What else is happening?
To celebrate NCSW we’ve been planning lots of activities for both customer facing and non-customer facing teams.
Without giving too much away, we will have team tasks for building motivation, prizes and certificates to be won throughout the week. Spot prizes for people offering good customer service will be available and team bingo will also be running each day. Each Chess person will be given Chess T-Shirts to wear throughout the week, badges will be awarded to team members exceeding customer expectations and the office will be decorated with balloons galore.
